Building for Growth, Built to Last

A Conversation with Lisa Penn
A middle-aged woman with long blonde hair, wearing a white blouse, dark jacket, and gold hoop earrings, poses against a dark background.

With more than six years at OneVizion, Lisa Penn has helped guide the company through a period of significant growth and operational maturity. As Chief Financial Officer, she focuses on strengthening financial discipline, visibility, and long-term scalability across the organization.

Lisa brings decades of experience in financial leadership—including a long tenure at IBM—combined with a practical, data-driven approach to decision-making. Her perspective reflects a balance of structure and adaptability—critical qualities as OneVizion continues to scale in an increasingly complex market.

1. What initially drew you to this industry, and what’s kept you passionate about it?

My interest in OneVizion was not industry specific, rather the fact that they are a SaaS company and my background with a technology company attracted me. What’s kept me passionate is the constant evolution — technology, customer needs, and scale are always changing. That ongoing challenge keeps the work interesting and meaningful.

2. OneVizion has grown and evolved a lot over the years — what’s been the most exciting part of that journey for you personally?

I’ve been part of OneVizion for over six years, and it’s been incredible to watch the business more than quadruple during that time. Being able to help anticipate and solve the challenges that come with high growth has been especially rewarding. I’m particularly proud of how far we’ve taken our financial processes and reporting. We’ve moved from operating largely on a cash basis without formal structure to having much stronger visibility, controls, and discipline. There’s still work ahead, but the progress has been significant.

3. What do you think makes OneVizion’s story genuinely different from others in this
space?

While OneVizion has been around for more than 15 years, we still have the energy and mindset of a startup. There’s a genuine excitement about serving new customers, solving new problems, and bringing additional offerings to market. That combination of experience and entrepreneurial spirit is rare and powerful.

4. When you think about the customers OneVizion serves, what impact are you most proud of?

At OneVizion, every customer matters. We don’t take a one‑size‑fits‑all approach. Our delivery team provides customized support where needed, and our platform is flexible enough to fit the customer — rather than forcing the customer to fit the software. Knowing our work directly helps organizations operate more effectively is something I’m very proud of.

5. What’s something you’ve learned from working alongside the teams and people here that has stayed with you?

Everyone at OneVizion wants the company to succeed. You don’t hear “that’s not my job”, rather “how can we make this work?” That level of ownership and collaboration is special and makes a real difference in how we operate and grow.

6. How do you think about what it means to build something that lasts?

Building something that lasts means putting the right foundations in place early — strong people, sound processes, and a culture that values accountability and adaptability. Growth is exciting, but sustainable growth requires discipline, transparency, and long term thinking. It’s about making decisions today that will still make sense years from now.

7. What gets you energized when you come to work — what’s the thing that makes you feel like this matters?

What energizes me most is knowing that strong financial leadership helps the company make better decisions, invest wisely, and support innovation that makes the work feel impactful and worthwhile.

8. What do you hope people in the industry come to understand about what OneVizion is really building?

I hope people recognize that OneVizion isn’t just building software — we’re building a flexible, scalable platform that adapts to complex, realworld needs. Our focus is on longterm partnerships with customers, not just transactions, and that mindset shows up in both our product and our people.

9. What qualities do you most admire in the people you work with?

People here care deeply about doing things the right way and supporting one another, even when growth creates pressure.

10. Looking ahead, what are you most hopeful about for OneVizion and the customers it serves?

I’m most hopeful about our continued ability to grow — expanding our offerings while maintaining the flexibility and customer focus that set us apart. For our customers, I’m excited about helping them navigate increasing complexity with solutions that truly support their goals.
